Dear Editor,

The launching of The Medical Sentinel proves once more the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) serves as the conscience, the superego, of American medical organizations. By example and by persuasion, and with the advent of this new publication, we can help liberate patients and doctors from the clutches of corporate socialized medicine.

Government and corporations, like individuals, are by nature driven by self-interest. Children learn not to lie, cheat, or steal from parents who demand honesty and restraint. And individuals when Free To Choose,* by market selection and voting, prevent lying and stealing by corporations and government. Thus Patient Power, * the medical savings account choice in Medicare, can negate loss of choice, theft, and rationing. We must expose the false promises of companies that solicit money from government (our taxes) and from employers (our wages), then pay managers to limit needed medical services.

When rotten apples were sold at Pleasanton’s farmers market, buyers did not select that seller; his booth was gone within the month. Rationed health care, in which Your Doctor Is Not In, * is the corporate equivalent of rotten apples. To Renew America * in this information age, AAPS must continue to expose the rotten apples — the lies and theft of managed care.

To keep America the land of the free and home of the brave and prevent the pillage and plunder of our health care, we must repulse the Vandals at the Gates of Medicine.*

Armed with The Medical Sentinel and using the polling booth and the marketplace, we must stop the socialist juggernaut.
